Single Detail Page Misc: L.S. Starrett Co. Vintage Wooden Boxed 6 Micrometer Set 6" - 12". Wooden box exterior: 20" long x 9" deep x 11" tall. Factory marked STARRETT on top in black. The L.S. Starrett Co., Athos, MASS, USA. Affixed label "Calibration Test Guage Tacoma Boatbuilding Co., Inc. Serial # IT2743. Due 4/27/96, Insp. 10/27/95. Case is all wood with mortise and tenon joints and original metal hardware and closures. Age unknown. Came from working milling shop retiring after 50 years and has appropriate patina from handling and real work! Wooden case is a real highlight as it has carved in finger-groove lifting indentations on both ends for easy handling. Interior styling is not only functional in making the mics easy to get to, but safely stored each in their own cradle. Shop hand marked letters A-F to indicate size to be stored in each (see photos) Micrometers are all vintage metal Starrett and may need to be calibrated after shipping. Sizes hand labeled as A-F on box. Micrometers slide into individually cut cradles with both ends above and over edges. All have metal label on one side No. 436" with size, and metal label on opposite side STARRETT. Several have shop engraved identification numbers.
